Insight Isn’t the Same as Change

Many autistic adults understand themselves deeply.

You may:

  • Have recently received an autism or ADHD diagnosis
  • Identify as neurodivergent but feel unsure what to do next
  • Feel burned out from masking
  • Struggle with rigidity, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm
  • Have done therapy but still feel stuck

NeuroACT is designed to bridge the gap between insight and daily change.

What Is NeuroACT?

NeuroACT is an adaptation of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) tailored for autistic and neurodivergent adults.

ACT is a behavioral therapy model that builds psychological flexibility — the ability to experience thoughts and emotions without becoming trapped by them, while taking action aligned with personal values.

NeuroACT adjusts this model for neurodivergent nervous systems by:

  • Accounting for sensory sensitivity and intensity
  • Using structured and predictable session formats
  • Reducing shame-based approaches to rigidity
  • Emphasizing direct communication
  • Integrating mindfulness in practical, accessible ways

Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or force emotional change, NeuroACT helps participants:

  • Notice internal experiences without becoming overwhelmed
  • Loosen rigid thought patterns
  • Increase flexibility without self-rejection
  • Clarify personal values
  • Take consistent, intentional steps forward

The goal is not to change who you are.

The goal is to increase freedom within your existing wiring.
